Clarkson for Mayor!

with 2 comments

News this week that young Londoners would back Jeremy Clarkson to be Mayor of London.

Jeremy Clarkson?

The nihilistic, bigotted, opinionated, annoyingly self satisfied xenophobe who likes driving fast, and blowing things up?

He would probably be perfect for the job.

On a serious note though, apparently Clarkson isn’t interested in running for Mayor.  Which is a good thing, as its unlikely he would have got in anyway.  True, he enjoys a mass TV following with Top Gear, but I’m not convinced those morons would be able to tear themselves away from the box long enough to get to a voting station anyway.

Then again, we (as Londoners) did vote in a clown last year, so anything is possible.

  1. “nihilistic, bigotted, opinionated, annoyingly self satisfied” – perhaps you should read some of your own stuff!

And as for describing all of his audience as “morons” suggest you may be a bit out of kilter with the real world yourself.

But, as with Clarkson, I defend your right to be bigotted 😉

  2. Thanks for your comment! You are so right…perhaps I have been a little overly critical of Mr Clarkson.

After all, it isn’t bigotted to say something like “America: 250 million w****rs living in a country with no word for w****r”

Nor is it opininated to say something like “Mandela just doesn’t deserve his pedestal, I mean the blokes a bit dodgy”

And clearly its not nihilistic at all to say something like “I don’t understand bus lanes. Why do poor people have to get to places quicker than I do?” or [on cyclists] “trespassers in the motorcars domain, they do not pay road tax and therefore have no right to be on the road, some of them even believe they are going fast enough to not be an obstruction. Run them down to prove them wrong”

    Seriously.

And finally, you clearly haven’t read my blog at all if you think any of my stuff is bigotted or nihilistic in anyway.

Although to be fair, I cannot defend opinionated (i.e. Clarkson’s audience are morons) and annoyingly self satisfied. 🙂
